KETABUSCO

Basketballghana.com can confirm Keta Business College (KETABUSCO) has been banned from competing in the Sprite Ball Championship indefinitely.

This is punishment to the school for fielding unqualified players at the recently held 2020 Sprite Ball Championship which run from January 3-4 at the El Wak Stadium in Ghana’s capital Accra.

KETABUSCO won the title for the first time ever by beating Mfantsipim School 48-40 in the Boys Division Final; the win was KETABUSCO’s second over Mfantsipim in the competition following a 32-24 win in the opening game.

Following the school’s triumph, several allegations including fielding unqualified players were leveled at the school by some schools that participated in this year’s edition.

Following investigations by the Ghana Education Service (GES), KETABUSCO was found to have fielded five unqualified players in the High School basketball competition regarded as Ghana’s biggest.

The decision comes after GES Deputy Director-General Anthony Boateng, National Physical Education Coordinator Emmanuel Dormenyah, Deputy Physical Education Coordinator Cynthia Wise and Rite Sports CEO Yaw Sakyi Afari met with an entourage from KETABUSCO headlined by Headmaster Seake-Kwawu.

  2. Anything a school from Volta Region wins or beats Botwe then it’s assumed the school fielded unqualified players.

This nonsense must stop, same was done to Ketasco 2 years ago???

    • So you expect this corruption to continue? If the other schools can’t man up to report them then Mfantsipim will surely do that.. The competition has to be fair and just ..we don’t want any canker to be eating into the competition… thank you.

From the Yaw Sakai to the staff and teachers of Botwe all, in fact left to me alone Sprite Ball he stopped so Botwe presume their champions in Ghana which they’re trying to create.
