Silver Medals in the Men’s Division and Women’s Division in Basketball helped University of Cape Coast (UCC) come up tops in the just ended Ghana University Sports Association (GUSA) Games.
The 2020 GUSA was held at the University of Ghana (UG) from January 3-19 with 11 public universities in the West African nation competing for the first time in the history of the competition.
UCC placed second in basketball in both divisions after recording a 63-66 loss to UG in the Men’s Division and a 30-56 loss to UG in the Women’s Division.
A gold medal was recorded in Women’s basketball by UCC at the 2018 GUSA in Tamale but the slip at the final did little to damage the University’s chances of winning the championship.
UCC won 64 medals in all with 28 Gold Medals, 23 Silver Medals and 13 Bronze Medals in the competition beating archrivals University of Education-Winneba (UEW), University of Development Studies (UDS) and UG to second, third and fourth place respectively.
