Bentil celebrates a basket against Barcelona in the EuroLeague last season with Calathes in background

Panathinaikos Basketball Club Ghanaian Power Forward has been praised by his Coach Rick Pitino after a solid display in the EuroLeague Championship.

Bentil played 16 minutes and registered nine points, two rebounds and an assist in an 81-92 loss to Barcelona in the continental championship.

The former Providence College player’s efforts were captured in the Top 10 Plays in the last round of games played; Panathinaikos loss to Barcelona took place in Athens.

According to EuroHoops, Pitino was impressed with Bentil’s ability to embrace the physical aspect of basketball stating:

“I like Ben as a basketball player…He’s probably the only guy on our team that is physical and shows physicality. He doesn’t have a great low post game but he’s physical. He’ll bang. I like that he shows physicality. A good basketball player. I like him” he said.

“Obviously, DeShaun Thomas is our offensive player that is more our frontcourt go-to-guy. But I like Ben” Pitino added.

Bentil is scheduled to play tonight against Real Madrid in Spain at 20:00 GMT.
