Basketballghana.com can report stakeholders in the Ghana basketball fraternity have shown overwhelming support for veteran Forward Richard Borsah.
The former Braves of Customs player was recently appointed as Regional Director of the International Basketball University (IBU); he will represent the specialized institution in Ghana and the West African sub region.
Following the announcement of Borsah’s appointment, scores of coaches, players and administrators have lauded the latest chapter in the career of the man who is the oldest of a trio of household names on the Ghanaian basketball scene.
Former teammates including Guard Patrick Gomarshie were among the first to congratulate Borsah whose duties include running basketball coaches course and organizing basketball camps for youngsters to achieve the IBU’s aim of developing basketball from youth to professional levels.
Accra Basketball League (ABL) Director Alex Kukula was among the administrators who chimed in with messages of support. Borsah won several ABL titles with Braves of Customs before taking up a player-coach role for ABL side Tudu Magic.
IBU is headquartered in Basketball powerhouse Lithuania.
