Knights v Coldstore in 2019 Tema League Finals

Basketballghana.com can report the Tema Community 4 Basketball Court popularly known as the Chinese Court will undergo renovation.

The renovation is headlined by Tema Community Basketball League authorities including organizer Prince Owusu-Anning and is to be funded by some league Team Managers and veteran players.

While the project has been divvied up into two phases, Ghana’s biggest basketball portal understands a third phase could be added.

However, that phase is contingent on the availability of funds as the well known facility in Ghana hoops stables readies for an upgrade.

Rims and backboards are to be replaced with new ones in Phase One while repainting the court and constructing washrooms take up Phase Two.

This is to improve amenities at the facility to enhance fan experience at the court that has hosted games since the Tema League’s inception in 2016.

The project is expected to be completed in time for the start of the 2020 League season; the season was set to start in April but the corona virus spread has forced authorities to wait for a ban on contact sports in the West African nation to expire on July 31 before a date could be fixed.
