Basketballghana.com can confirm renovation works promised earlier this year by management of the Tema Basketball League is underway.
The renovation has been divvied into two phases with a possible third phase in the works; renovation at the famed Chinese Court at Tema Community 4 involves painting of the playing surface at the venue.
The present phase of renovation is headlined by changing the rims at the venue which has hosted Tema League games since the competition’s inception in 2016.
Members of the League’s Management Team including Organizing Secretary Prince Owusu Anning were present at the venue undertaking some activities. A handful of players and team leaders were also present at the time.
The renovation is geared towards upgrading facilities at the venue to improve quality of play and enhance fan experience during game days.
Due to a ban on contact sports in Ghana due to the corona virus, the 2020 League season is yet to commence. Nungua Coldstore is the defending league Champion and has won three titles in all.
