Ghana Power Forward/Small Forward Ben Bentil is set to play in his first game of the 2020-2021 season later tonight for Panathinaikos.
The Greek Giant is scheduled to play Russian side Khimki in the EuroLeague at 17:00 GMT at the Basketball Center of Moscow Region.
The contest comes as the first contest in a brutal stretch for Panathinaikos who play country rival Olympiacos on October 9 in the continental championship, a league tie against Aris on October 10 and a EuroLeague contest against French side ASVEL on October 13.
Panathinaikos flew to Russia earlier this week and practiced ahead of the contest tonight with Bentil participating in the session.
Ahead of the game, Sekondi native Bentil tweeted, “It’s finally Go Time”; this is Bentil’s second season with Panathinaikos after moving from fellow Greek side Peristeri ahead of the 2019-2020 season.
Bentil won last season’s league title though the latter part of the season was cancelled due to the corona virus pandemic. Panathinaikos was voted as winners.
