Basketballghana.com can confirm the second edition of the Africa Basketball Festival will roll out later this month following the successful maiden edition a year ago.

This year’s edition is dubbed the “Skills Challenge” and registration for the event has commenced and is due to end on Saturday, December 5; a specific date for the event to be determined by event organizers RITE Sports Limited in the coming days.

Team Accra won the 2019 All Star Game

The “Skills Challenge” event is to challenge team members on executing challenges that touch various aspects of basketball including ball handling.

A free throw shooting contest, three point shooting contest and half court shooting contest has been earmarked as the main attractions.

Last year’s Africa Basketball Festival had standout players represent Tema and Accra Teams in an All Star Game played at the SSNIT Sports Emporium at Bukom, Accra.

Due to COVID 19 related restrictions on contact sports in Ghana, the upcoming event is to have individual players take turns to show off their skills. 10 teams are expected to register with each team having up to five players.
