Radford University College won the 2020 UPAC

Basketballghana.com can confirm Radford University College is 4000 Ghana Cedis richer after winning the 2020 UPAC Basketball Championship title.

Radford’s Men’s Basketball Team pulled off a stunning 58-46 win over Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) to lift the special edition of the Universities, Polytechnics and College (UPAC) Championship.

The tournament was held at the Tema Community 4 Court just before the end of the year 2020 and it is Radford’s debut UPAC title win.

For topping the field in Ghana’s biggest tertiary basketball competition, Radford was handed a cash prize of 4000 Ghana Cedis with certificates of participation, medals and items from sponsors CAL Bank, MTN and Decathlon.

KNUST (green) v UPSA

It turned out to be a clean sweep of top honours for Radford as Point Guard Lawal Toyin was named the Most Valuable Player of the competition.

Toyin’s big time shots from deep helped Radford recover from a deficit and take the lead in the fourth quarter en route to victory.

TTU (blue) v Kings University

Takoradi Technical University finished in third place; KNUST and Takoradi received 2500 and 1500 Ghana Cedis respectively.
