Basketballghana.com can confirm Ghanaian basketball player Kobby Ayetey’s North Carolina Central University (NCCU) is the main subject of an upcoming documentary series. The series premieres on February 12.

The series is to be broadcast on American sports channel ESPN in collaboration with “The Undefeated” a sports platform that throws light on social issues.

Multiple time NBA All Star Point Guard Chris Paul of Phoenix Suns and award winning Sports Personality Stephen A. Smith feature in the documentary series. Paul and Smith are reported to be the Executive Producers of the series.

The series details activities of NCCU’s Men’s Basketball Team as an HBCU (Historically Black College/University) in light of heightened racial tensions in the United States of America.

Titled “Why Not Us”, the series takes a look at Head Coach LeVelle Moton’s interactions with his players especially African-American players on life outside the court.

Ayetey is majoring in Behavioural and Social Sciences and is in his second season with NCCU after playing at Baltimore City Community College after relocating from Accra, Ghana.

The 6 foot 6 inch Small Forward/Power Forward is averaging 2.3 points and 2.7 rebounds in 14.3 minutes across three games this season.
