Basketballghana.com can confirm Ghanaian born French International Shooting Guard Yakuba Ouattara has left Coosur Real Betis to team up with the French National Men’s Basketball Team.
The latest call up for the Tepa born player comes ahead of qualification games to the 2022 EurBasket; France is due to play Montenegro and Great Britain on February 20 and February 21.
The matchup against Great Britain pits Ouattara against fellow Ghanaian born player Akwasi Yeboah who plays for Britain internationally. Yeboah plays in France for Saint-Quentin.
Ouattara isn’t the only Real Betis player to depart for international duties as four others have left Spain including Senegal Center Yossou Ndoye.
Ndoye is due to play for the West African nation in Group B of the 2021 AfroBasket final round of qualification games in Yaounde, Cameroon.
Senegal plays Kenya, Angola and Mozambique from February 19 to February 21 with the top three ranked countries in the group progressing to the Championship.
Ouattara led all scorers in a win for France over Germany in his previous international outing.
