Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF) Head Musa Kida has stated his outfit will pick the best countries for the country’s Men’s and Women’s Basketball to engage in friendly games ahead of the Olympic Games.

Nigeria Men’s-D’Tigers- and Women’s-D’Tigress- Basketball Teams have qualified to compete in this year’s Olympics in Tokyo, Japan.

The recent success of Nigeria in international competitions including a quarterfinal berth at the World Cup for the Women’s Team and three wins in five games at the Men’s World Cup has generated a lot of attention for the respective teams.

The attention has attracted the interest of players and according to Kida, such attention has attracted the interest of several nations for friendly games.

“We have received some friendly games invitations from countries in Europe, America and Africa. We are currently going through these requests to pick the best for our teams. The teams will be facing some quality oppositions from different continents and it is expedient that we get them teams that will provide something close to what they are going to see in Tokyo” Kida said.
