The first game of the 2020-2021 Italian Basketball League Finals Series is in the books and Virtus Bologna has bagged the opening game of the best of five series.
Ghanaian-Italian International Small Forward Awudu Abass played 19 minutes off the bench for Bologna aiding the team clinch an 83-77 win over Olimpia Milano.
Abass registered eight points and five rebounds off the bench helping veteran Milos Teodosic anchor the second unit with his 19 points and seven assists performance.
28 year old Abass scored two of four three point shot attempts with one coming in the fourth quarter; he scored one of three field goal shot attempts in the contest but attempted no free throws.
Abass could win his second league title should Bologna end the series on top; the former Germani Brescia player won his debut title in 2018 during his time at Milano.
Games 2 and 3 of the Finals are scheduled to be played out on Monday, June 7 and Wednesday, June 9 respectively.
