Basketballghana.com can report young Ghana Center Joel Mensah has transferred from James Madison University to California State University San Marcos.

The 21 year old will feature on San Marcos Men’s Basketball Roster for the 2021-2022 season after the transfer was made official earlier this week.

By moving to San Marcos, Mensah makes a return to the Golden State after spending two seasons with San Diego State University prior to his move to James Madison.

It also marks his second transfer in as many years after finding playing time difficult to come by at both San Diego State and James Madison.

In the immediate past year, 6 foot 10 inch Mensah played just nine games and started two of such games; he averaged 1.8 points and 1.7 rebounds in six minutes.

For the first time in his College career, the athletic defender won’t compete in the NCAA Division I but will do so in Division II. Mensah is regarded for his athletic plays on defense and rim protection with work needed on his offensive game.
