Basketballghana.com can confirm young Ghanaian Power Forward/ Center Joel Mensah is eligible to play in the 2021/2022 US College Basketball Season.
This comes after Mensah transferred from James Madison University to California State University-San Marcos this offseason. Mensah played two seasons at San Diego State University before moving to James Madison.
According to San Diego Union-Tribune, Joel Mensah is eligible to play right away since San Marcos competes in the NCAA Division II. James Madison competes in Division I.
Mensah’s latest move takes him back to San Diego where he shared the court with fellow Ghanaian Center Nathan Mensah at San Diego State University.
The athletic defender has had a difficult time getting extensive minutes on the court throughout his College career; he played in just nine games for James Madison and averaged 1.7 points.
Moving to the lower division could give Mensah the chance to channel his immense talent into production and make it to the pro level.
