Basketballghana.com can confirm Ghana Center Amida Brimah has been waived by NBA side Indiana Pacers following the conclusion of the NBA Summer League.
The preseason tournament concluded this past week with Sacramento Kings emerging winners in Las Vegas. However, in the aftermath of the tourney, Indiana has decided to waive Brimah and give out its last Two Way contract spot to Guard DeJon Jarreau.
Jarreau was undrafted in the 2021 NBA Draft coming out of University of Houston but excelled in the Summer League with Miami Heat as he averaged 11.6 points, 6.6 rebounds, 5.8 assists and 1.4 steals in five games.
Brimah up until the announcement held the remaining Two Way contract spot on the team after Pacers gave the other spot to First year Shooting Guard Duane Washington.
A Two Way contract means a player can play for an NBA team and the team’s affiliate side in the NBA Gatorade League in the same season.
6 foot 10 inch Brimah had an underwhelming Summer League run with his best outing coming in a 74-65 win over Washington Wizards. He registered two points, six rebounds, a steal, an assist and three blocks in 12 minutes off the bench.
Pacers has Domantas Sabonis, Myles Turner, 2021 Draftee Isaiah Jackson and Goga Bitadze at the Center position.
