Basketballghana.com can report Coach K (Kofi Oteng Bawuah) has held a basketball camp at Akim Oda in Ghana’s Eastern Region; the event was held over a three day period.
The purpose of the event was to develop interest in basketball in young individuals and equip them with the right fundamentals of the sport.
Such programs are the aim of Youth Basketball Coach and Community Activist Kofi Bawuah who also uses these camps to pass on life lessons to young individuals.
Ghana’s leading hoops portal can also report Coach K donated basketball equipment including sneakers and balls to the camp participants.
Aside organizing the Camp, Coach K is headlining the construction of a basketball court at Sekyedumase in the West African nation’s Ashanti Region.
The absence of basketball courts in communities in Ghana is a major reason for the stunted growth of basketball in a country that has football dominating the sports landscape.
Coach K has stated on his Twitter page he “will not rest until every Ghanaian Basic school child has the opportunity to play basketball in this country”. (Click highlighted text to view tweet)
