Head Coach Henry Mwinuka led REG to the convincing win over his former team; Ugandan Coach Mwinuka won the national league title with Patriots in 2016, 2018 and 2019.

Patriots represented Rwanda in the inaugural edition of the BAL and generated a ton of headlines by signing American Rapper J Cole to its roster for the 12 team continental basketball competition.
