Basketballghana.com can report Lithuanian Basketball Federation (LBF) President Vydas Gedvilas has received a replica warm up jersey for the would-be Ghana National Men’s Basketball Team. (Click highlighted text to watch full video)
The kit was presented to the veteran administrator by Jonas Vainauskas who represented the LBF during a visit to Ghana earlier this month to kick start activities agreed on in a Memorandum of Understanding signed between the LBF and Ghana Basketball Association (GBBA).

The all red kit with a white strip on either side of the shoulder area was given to LBF President Gedvilas as a gesture notifying the world of the relationship between the two associations.

Vainauskas spent 10 days in the West African nation from January 11 to January 21 touring a handful of locations in Ghana’s southern sector meeting with various stakeholders and supervising scouting sessions for players to form the national team.

The aforementioned trip formed part of the first phase of assessing the state of basketball in Ghana and a second trip scheduled for February to locations in the northern sector is in the works.
Lithuania ranks eighth in the FIBA World Rankings.
