Basketballghana.com can confirm the second edition of the University of Cape Coast (UCC) Wildcats Invitational Tournament is scheduled to take place at the Cape Coast Stadium on Monday, March 7.

The tournament is set to tip off at 10:00 AM with four teams participating including the host, University of Cape Coast Men’s and Women’s Basketball Teams.

University of Education-Winneba (UEW), Takoradi Technical University (TTU) and Ghana Police Service are the remaining teams in the one day event. Competing teams are expected to present rosters in the Male and Female divisions respectively.

The 2022 edition of the competition was birthed in the aftermath of a partnership struck between GameTime Sports Management and the Central Regional branch of Ghana’s National Sports Authority (NSA).

UCC finished in third place in Men’s Basketball at the 2020 Ghana University Sports Association (GUSA) Games; the tournament on March 7 is to aid the team’s preparation for this year’s GUSA to be held at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in Kumasi.

Tomorrow’s competition forms part of a long list of activities earmarked to celebrate the 65th Independence Day Anniversary for the West African nation. The official parade to mark the occasion was held earlier today at the Stadium.
