Basketballghana.com Santa Cruz Warriors have qualified to compete in the NBA Gatorade League (G-League) 2021-2022 Playoffs after beating Austin Spurs in the season finale.

Santa Cruz beat Spurs 118-112 to progress to the postseason as the sixth seed and is set to third seed play South Bay Lakers in the next round.

American-Ghanaian Center Selom Mawugbe delivered a top performance registering 11 points, 17 rebounds, five blocks, an assist and a steal in 40 minutes as a starter. (Click highlighted text to watch game highlights)

The 6 foot 10 inch led the entire game in rebounds and blocked shots; Mawugbe grabbed five offensive rebounds and added 12 defensive rebounds.

Mawugbe scored five of nine two point shot attempts and scored one of three free throws but turned the ball over twice in the final game of the regular season.

A strong run to close out the season on a five game winning streak was enough to get Santa Cruz into the postseason despite having a losing record of 15 wins and 17 losses.

This is Mawugbe’s second season competing in the NBA G League out of Azusa Pacific University.
