Basketballghana.com can confirm Turkish side Bahceshir Koleji Istanbul has won the 2021-2022 FIBA Europe Cup title after winning the Final Series at the expense of Italian side Reggiana.

Ghana Power Forward Ben Bentil played eight games for Bahcesehir earlier this season after moving from Greek side Panathinaikos; the 27 year old left Istanbul to join Italian side Olimpia Milano after activating the clause that made him eligible to transfer to a Euroleague team.

In his brief stint in Turkey, Bentil averaged 12 points, 4.4 rebounds and 2.3 assists in 23.1 minutes as a starter. Bentil featured in a handful of games in the Europe Cup which is FIBA’s continental second tier competition in Europe behind the Basketball Champions League.

Bahcesehir recorded a 72-69 win over Reggiana in Game One and scored a 90-74 win in Game 2 to clinch the title. Istanbul Shooting Guard Jamar Smith was named the Finals Most Valuable Player.

Bentil has won the Italian Super Cup since signing for Milano with Olimpia ranking second in the Serie A and in the hunt for the league title. The team is in a must win Game 4 in the Euroleague against Turkish Anadolou Efes tonight at 17:30 GMT.
