Basketballghana.com can report FAP from Cameroon and Petro de Luanda from Angola have booked their place in the semifinals of the 2022 Basketball Africa League (BAL) Playoffs.
The pair progressed at the expense of home side Rwanda Energy Group (REG) and AS Sale from Morocco respectively. The Playoffs the NBA-FIBA Africa competition runs from May 21 to May 28 at the Kigali Arena in Rwanda.
FAP shocked REG to make the semis thanks to a hard fought 66-63 win that had REG’s Cleveland Thomas Jr. lead all players with 23 points but lacked enough production from his teammates to scale the hurdle. Dieudonne Ndizeye was the other REG player to score in double figures (11). (Click highlighted text to watch game highlights)
