Basketballghana.com can confirm the Kigali Arena has a new name after a partnership deal got signed recently. The hitherto Kigali Arena is now officially known as the BK Arena.

This comes on the back of a signed deal between the Bank of Kigali and the QA Solutions- the firm managing the plush facility- recently.

Ghana’s leading basketball portal gathers via Rwandan news outlet NewTimes the agreed amount is 7 Billion Rwandan Francs [6,866,328.00 US Dollars] and the deal will last for six years. Sportsnews.Africa however, reports the deal is worth 8 million US Dollars.

The change in name was made in the middle of the 2022 Basketball Africa League-BAL- Playoffs that ended this past weekend in the Rwanda capital.

The venue since its official opening in 2019 has hosted several international basketball competitions including the 2021 BAL, 2019 African FIBA Under 16 Women’s Championship and the 2021 African Championship-AfroBasket.
