Basketballghana.com can confirm veteran Ghanaian-Italian Guard David Cournooh will compete in the 2021-2022 Italian Serie A2 Playoff Semifinal series.

This comes on the back of Cournooh’s side-Scafati-eking out a 3-2 series win over Piacenza at the quarterfinal stage. Scafati beat Piacenza 77-59 in Game 5 to clinch the series.

After taking a 2-0 lead two games into the series, Piacenza bagged two wins on the bounce to tie the series heading into Game 5. Cournooh registered 10 points, three rebounds and six assists in the win.

The combo Guard played 21 minutes in Game 5 off the bench as one of five Scafati players to score in double in digits; Rotnei Clarke led all players with 19 points.

Game One of the semifinal series against Cantu comes off on Saturday, June 4 at 17;00 GMT with Game Two to be played on Monday, June 6. Cournooh joined Scafati from Serie A side Vanoli Cremona prior to the start of the playoffs as Cremona’s relegation from the Serie A was confirmed.

Cantu on the other hand, had an easy challenge against Ravenna with Cantu sweeping the series via a 3-0 series score.
