DUNK Training Session

DUNK Project Coordinator and Head of Basketball at Grassroot Eric Adorku has indicated more attention needs to be paid to grassroots basketball.

He gave this assertion in an exclusive interview with Basketballghana.com during a training session at the Program’s facility in Jamestown, Accra.

His thoughts come ahead of the Basketball Honours Awards scheduled for Friday, June 17 at the Accra Metropolitan Assembly [AMA] Headquarters.

The Award scheme is to recognize top level contributions from individuals and organizations to basketball in connection with the success of long tenured events organized by RITE Sports-Sprite Ball Xpressions and UPAC.

The spotlight will shine on youth basketball at the Awards and Adorku has advocated for attention to be paid to youth programs like the one he works with.

Everybody is looking at the end product like this child is good, this player is good but remember it starts way from the grassroot level when these kids join this program especially at DUNK they are from 12 years all the way to 25 years and through this program they are able to acquire more skills in this field of sports’ he said.
