Basketballghana.com can confirm Game One of the 2021-2022 Italian Serie A Basketball Finals Series commences later today with Olimpia Milano taking on Virtus Bologna at 20;00 GMT.

This is a repeat of last season’s Finals Series that had Bologna win four straight games to emerge the winner of the best of seven games series.

Ghana Forward Ben Bentil is rounding up his debut season competing in Italy’s top flight basketball division and has played a solid role to get Milano back in the Finals.

Both teams won their semifinals series via a 3-0 sweep in the best of five games series; Bologna beat Tortona and Milano beat Sassari to make it to the final.

Bentil registered 10 points, four rebounds and two assists in 21 minutes in Milano’s 88-71 win over Sassari in Game One.

The teams occupied the top spots in the regular season standings as Bologna earned the top seed by winning 26 of 30 games. Milano on the other hand, won 24 of 30 games.

Italian International Shooting Guard/ Small Forward of Ghanaian descent, Awudu Abass, won’t compete in the series as he continues to recover from a torn ACL injury.

Both teams are aiming to win their second title this season; Bologna won the EuroCup last month and Milano won the Italian Cup earlier in the campaign.
