Basketballghana.com gathers Ghanaian born French International Shooting Guard Yakuba Ouattara is in deep talks with French League Champions ASVEL.
This comes following the conclusion of the French Pro A 2021-2022 Season that had Ouattara play for AS Monaco; the team played ASVEL in the French Finals Series but ended up losing 2-3 in the best of five games series despite holding a 2-1 series lead.
30 year old Ouattara is regarded as a defensive player on the wing and has spent his entire professional career in France bar a one year stint with Real Betis in the Spanish League.
He averaged seven points and 2.7 rebounds in 42 league games last season and averaged 4.1 points and 1.9 rebounds in 14.2 minutes across 30 games.
ASVEL has seen the exits of Victor Wembayama, Chris Jones and Elie Okobo following the conclusion of the season.
Ouattara was born in Tepa in Ghana’s Ashanti Region before moving to France with his parents and competing for France at various levels in international basketball.
