Word reaching Basketballghana.com indicates Spintex Knights Basketball Club has left Ghana to compete in the 2022 Tournoi International Basketball Tournament.

The tournament tips off on Monday, July 18 and is scheduled to conclude on July 24 with all games taking place at the Palais des sports Treichville in Abidjan, Ivory Coast.

In an exclusive interview with Ghana’s biggest basketball portal, Knights Co-Founder Dr. Eric Opoku-Antwi opined the team is expected to return to Ghana on Monday, July 25.

He stated, “We left today the 17th of July and we return on the 25th of July. We want our team to compete at the highest level within the West Africa sub region against some of the best teams. From this, we hope we can gather all the experience available” when addressing the motivation behind competing in the tournament.

Eight teams including Knights will participate in the competition and have been drawn from four countries namely Ghana, Nigeria, Benin and Ivory Coast.

Knights lead Group B standings in the 2022 Accra Basketball League (ABL) Men’s Division II with 20 points from winning all 10 games played so far in the campaign. (Click highlighted text to watch game highlights)
