KANESHIE -POSTKaneshie and Dansoman will attempt to placate their fans by settling for a third-place finish at the maiden U-18 Basketball competition at the El-Wak Stadium on Friday September 4.

Both communities missed the boat for the final game after losing out on their respective matches at the semi-final stage.

Highly fancied Dansoman was booted out by Ridge while Kaneshie succumbed to Cantonments in last weekend’s top liner.

The two communities must now settle for a third place finish to mollify their suffering fans in the opening game at 2pm (local time) on Friday September 4.

Paa Kwesi Awuah of Dansoman has been one of the revelations at Community Dunks and he will be eager to impress in today’s game against their old foes.

Coach Ferrani Olulonyo of Dansoman and his opposite number Samuel Tagoe are braced up for the encounter and they have both indicated their desire to play a competitive match.

Dansoman look the overwhelming favourite for the tie but judging from their slip against Ridge in the semi-finals stage, Kaneshie could pose another shock win over the opponents.

Coach Sam Tagoe is bereaved after he lost his mother on Thursday and he is keen to win the game in memory of his lost mum.

Community Dunks is an initiative of Rite Multimedia and sponsored by Sprite and Indomie with support from DDP Outdoor Ltd, Western Publication, Silicon House Production, Y FM, TV Africa, Ghana’s World News Paper and 90 minutes; the official News Paper for the tournament.
