The Greater Accra basketball series may have ended over the weekend, but the gestures and charisma of the drama king never went unnoticed.

Samuel Kweku Jackson of Holy Family fame stole all the headlines for coaching gymnastics on the baseline after guiding his side to another season in the top flight.

His way of issuing out instructions and the high level of animations that he showcased – the way he did it caught the attention and admiration of fans who thronged the two venues on weekly basis for the just ended season.

His constant gesticulation to his charges when things seems to be fallen apart was a delight to watch and if you were at the Lebanon court on Wednesday to witness his side’s penultimate league game against Magic- it would have given you enough credence to the gestures which has now become a major talking point among crazy basketball fans in the West African country.

He also doubles as the head coach of senior high school giant Accra Academy and is putting together a solid team for this season’s Sprite Ball Championship which is expected to run from October – December this year.

May be Holy Family didn’t win the championship, but Samuel Jackson added colour and beauty to an exciting season as we look forward to this weekend’s annual Tommy Cabalan championship at the Lebanon house in Tudu.
