Coach Joseph Ayizangah described the performance of his team as ‘champagne’ as Teshie –Nungua recorded an important 52-49 victory over Maamobi –Nima in the third and fourth placed match on Saturday.

King of the court Josiah Awudu Rasheed ended the campaign on a blistering note displaying the same performance that has earned him massive reviews in the local media in the West African country.

The power forward was once again the chief tormentor for the new comers as they romped to victory at the University Ghana basketball court on Saturday.

May be the presence of deputy minister of Youth and Sports who also doubles as the Member of Parliament for Ledzokuku constituency did the trick for Coach Joseph Ayizangah’s charges as they played with so much determination and power play to beat their opponent.

Teshie-Nungua almost looked ‘home and dry’ as at the third quarter until the final scale changed in the final quarter where Abeiku Solomon’s young ballers launched a huge comeback. They were trailing by ten points at the early stages of the final quarter but quickly found their rhythm to mount a huge challenge in the dying embers of the game.

It was a close shave for Maamobi who lost by just 3 points.

No matter what happened on Saturday, one thing is for sure though and that’s the fact that debutant Teshie-Nungua has left an indelible mark and carved a huge niche for themselves.

Coach Joseph Ayizangah will be proud of the achievement of his young ballers and they will surely be welcomed by supporters in the community for holding their flag high.
