Organizers are putting finishing touches at the centre court of the University of Ghana as six tertiary institutions get ready for the biggest basketball fiesta in history in the West African country on Saturday.

Giant telecommunication and title sponsors of the Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) basketball championship, Tigo, are brushing up with branding as fans begin to troop in for the big game.

Six institutions – Accra Polytechnic, Kumasi Polytechnic, Sunyani Polytechnic and Takoradi Polytechnic have arrived at Ghana’s Premier University brimmed with massive confidence while the University of Education (Winneba) and the University of Ghana have not been left out of the pre-match discussion.

Players and the technical staff of the various institutions have been talking tough among themselves with bragging efficacy and pride key on the agenda for the teams.

Cheer leading group of Accra Polytechnic ‘the Zulu Community’ just touched base at the venue with singing, drumming and dancing – given a clear indication of what to expect.
