Ghana Basketball Association Chairman, David Addo-Ashong, is thrilled with the technical improvement of the game and insists it can only get better in the coming years.

The Under-18 basketball competition in the West African country enters the final lap in season -3, which winds up at the Aviation Social Centre on October 1.

Crazy basketball fans are expected to be treated to some scintillating drills at the venue as quartet Kaneshie, Dansoman, Ashaiman and Maamobi-Nima slug it out on the final day.

It will be a battle of wits and minds between favourites Dansoman and Ashaiman- who go at each other in the hugely-anticipated semi-final clash.

Cantonment and Kaneshie remain the only two sides who have nicked the trophy in the past two years, placing so much pressure on the other competitors to etched their name history folklore.

Dansoman, especially under the eagle watch of their young Ghanaian-born Nigerian coach Ferranyi Olunloyo has shown so much promise and remains unbeaten in their last four matches.

The country’s basketball chief is delighted with the progress of the competition and the hawkish of talents and remains adamant of the country’s chances to take the continent by storm in the not too distant future.

“I am very delighted with the level of growth and how far it continues to attract numbers to the venue on weekly basis. It tells you that the level of enthusiasm has grown and we’re battle ready to take it to the next level”. David Ashong told BASKETBALLghana. Com

“I hope to see more technical improvement as I expect a wonderful competition on Saturday”.
