Chief Executive of Rite Multimedia, Yaw Sakyi Afari, has declared the recently concluded 2012 Indomie Community Dunks ‘happy and glorious’ after the curtain was lowered on an exciting season.

Eight communities participated in the grand finale of the fourth edition of the competition at the centre court of the El-Wak stadium.

There were plenty of drama, anxiety, sheer display of amazing basketball skills as well as disappointments as Cape Coast Kawanopado strolled to a famous success, beating Kwadaso in a nerve racking final.

The competition was extended to two other regions (Central and Ashanti) for the first time and players from those areas never failed to disappoint as they thrilled fans with some swash buckling performances to the admiration of many fans.

The Chief Executive of the Accra-based event company was full of praise to the output of the  players, technical staff, sponsors and fans for contributing significantly to the success of the competition.

“We will never forget the smiles, kindness and support of our wonderful men and women who played varied roles for the success of this great competition,” Afari said

“The spectators and public provided great soundtrack for the games. Their enthusiastic cheers energised its competitors and brought a festive spirit to the venue.

“Most importantly we say a big thank you Indomie Instant Noodles for their continuous to the development of the sport.

“Without them we will be nowhere. They continue to give the opportunity to these burgeoning talents to showcase their potential and therefore we can only be eternally grateful to them.”

The promising entrepreneur also paid glowing attribute to the athletes for their outstanding performances.

“I pour my heart out to the players for putting up a good show. Indeed, I am proud and happy that more talents are being nurtured year-in-and-year out.

“They showed they are determined to make a career avenue out the sport. Let’s continue to encourage them because I believe these are future of Ghana basketball.”

Many of the fans who came to the venue, witnessed moments of heroism and heartbreaks that will live long in their memory.
