SONY DSCSt Mary’s power forward Ama Serwaa Michtual claims she deserved to have been voted the MVP in the 2013 Sprite Ball Championship.

The 15-year-old was beaten to the individual coveted award by experienced Matilda Gordon of Aggrey Memorial.

The technical committee ruled Gordon had done enough to merit the award but Michtual has criticized the decision and insists she deserved to have won the accolade.

“I am very sad because I think I deserved the award. I can’t believe I was snubbed for this award,” Mitchual told BASKETBALLghana.com

“Many of the fans have spoken to me and they are all thinking in my direction. I think the authorities got it wrong.

“I congratulate Matilda for winning but I believe I was the right recipient of this award. Truth must be told.”
