RIP CITYThe Portland Trail Blazer may be struggling to repeat last season’s sucess, but Nigerian-American Al-Farouq Aminu’s figures can’t be overlooked.

The 6-foot-9’s ability to contribute across all categories, including from beyond the arc, have largely made his first season in a Portland uniform a success.

Although Portland hold a 11-16 with a third of the 2015-16 campaign gone, Aminu is averaging a career-high 10.7 points along with 7.1 rebounds in a career-best 30.6 minutes per game.

And, as the season moves on he continues to prove a valuable asset for Portland.

The sixth-year forward who is expected to play a major role for Nigeria at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics, has never had such an impact on a team.

As well as playing in all 27 Portland games this season and recording five double doubles, Aminu ranks third in team scoring, rebounding and shot blocking.

Aminu seems to have the rediscover his potential that made him the Los Angeles Clippers an eight pick in the 2010 NBA draft.

Portland visit Victor Oladipo’s Orlando Magic on Saturday morning.
