DSC_0845Ghana’s Minister of Youth and Sports Honourable Mustapha Ahmed has pledged to donate tickets to students of Opoku Ware who will be present at the El-Wak Stadium in Accra to cheer the school at the 2016 Sprite Ball Championship.

The tournament will take place between January 5-7 and will have 25 schools in all compete in boys’ and girls’ divisions.

The minister who happens to be an old boy of the famous school, made the pledge at the official launch of the championship which was telecast live on TV3.

The show was graced by other dignitaries including Ghana Basketball Association Chairman David Addo Ashong, soulful gospel musician Kofi Sarpong and school authorities.

Chief Executive Officer of Rite Sports, organizers of the prestigious event, Yaw Sakyi Afari commended the efforts of all stakeholders who have made it possible for basketball to develop in the country.

Renowned Journalist Patrick Akoto hosted the show which aired between 17:00-17:50 GMT.

Defending Champions Mfantsipim School will tipoff the 2016 Sprite Ball Championship against Volta Region champions Mawuli Senior High School.
