The official launch of the 2016 Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship has been postponed due to internal constrictions.

The program which was originally scheduled to take place on Wednesday February 24 at Studio B of top Ghanaian channel TV3 between 17:00 GMT and 18:00 GMT has been moved to Thursday February 25.

The UPAC trophy will also be unveiled to invited guests which will prospectively include representatives of participating tertiary institutions, Ghana Basketball Association, sponsors and tournament organizers Rite Sports Limited.

A live ballot to determine fixtures in the respective zones will be drawn at the program.

The show will be hosted by basketball pundit Jake Morrison with expected performances from ace Gospel musician DSP Kofi Sarpong and rapper Lil Shaker. Accra Polytechnic are the defending champions.

The third edition of the UPAC Championship is headlined by best-selling deodorant Rexona and will take place between March 5 and April 16. The six week-long event will have 28 tertiary institutions compete for Ghana’s biggest tertiary basketball trophy.

The Championship is supported by CAL Bank, MTN and Fanyogo in partnership with media outlets including TV3, Y FM and Basketballghana.com and Ghana Sports.
