Takoradi Polytechnic head coach Owusu Ansah is confident his side will qualify out of Zone E of the 2016 Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship which will take place at the University of Cape-Coast on Thursday March 24.

The third edition of UPAC is headlined by world best-selling deodorant Rexona and will feature host University of Cape-Coast (UCC), Cape-Coast Polytechnic, University of Education (UEW-Winneba) and Takoradi Polytechnic compete for the zone’s top spot which automatically qualifies the winning team to the last eight of the competition.

Speaking to basketballghana.com, the tactical head was in ebullient mood as he spoke highly of his team ahead of tipoff on Thursday. He said:

“Our preparation so far is excellent and we are hopeful to clinch the slot on Thursday… My boys are very positive and determined to make themselves proud by qualifying to the finals in Accra.”

However, he was weary of the threat opposing teams including University of Cape-Coast pose to the team’s aspirations.

“We know it’s going to be tough playing against UCC and UEW who just played in the GUSA-Ghana Universities Sports Association-Games”.
