Takoradi Polytechnic will make a big showing at the knockout stage of the 2016 Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship according to team head coach, Owusu Ansah. Takoradi Polytechnic qualified out of Zone E in preliminary rounds of qualification which concluded at the University of Cape-Coast.
After seeing his side manhandle Cape-Coast Polytechnic 61-33 and edge host University of Cape-Coast (UCC) 49-46 to top the zone, coach Ansah was adamant his team will venture deep into the latter rounds of the knock out stage. He said:
“This time round I can promise you we are coming for a very big show… we would really really want to do something bigger this time round so we are going to prepare and come April, come and show something good to lovers of basketball”.
The third edition of the UPAC Championship is headlined by Rexona and the University of Ghana will host quarter final games on April 14 where already qualified teams, University of Development Studies-Tamale, University of Energy and Natural Resources and Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, compete against Takoradi Polytechnic.
