University of Cape-Coast Power Forward Mohammed Yakubu has cautioned Takoradi Polytechnic to keep their composure ahead of the Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship quarter finals which will take place at the University of Ghana on April 14.

Takoradi Polytechnic secured a spot in the competition’s last eight after beating host University of Cape-Coast (UCC) 49-46 to top Zone E. The team also beat UCC’s city rivals Cape-Coast Polytechnic, 66-31 in the earlier game of the qualifiers.

The veteran Forward was impressed with the Western Region-based side’s play in the competition but quickly noted the team needs to keep its’ composure as it prepares to face Ghana’s best basketball institutions. He said:

“They stand a chance if they keep their composure and they shouldn’t get so excited because there are equally good players in the other teams so they should just train hard and they would go places.”

Takoradi Polytechnic joins University of Development Studies-Tamale, University of Energy and Natural Resources and Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in the last eight of Ghana’s biggest tertiary basketball championship.
