Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) and Pentecost University College’s (PUC) outstanding Zone A game will be played on Friday April at the University of Ghana.

The game, originally scheduled for the final round in Zone A on March 5, will be played on Friday during Zone G qualifiers for the 2016 Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship.

Zone G qualifiers will feature host University of Ghana (UG) take on Marshalls University College, Central University College and Wisconsin University College for top spot in the zone.

GIMPA will definitely need to win to stand a chance of making it out of the zone and into the quarter finals. The team shockingly lost 15-19 in its opening game against Ho Polytechnic but rallied to beat Ghana Technology University College (GTUC)-Accra 30-24 in the next game.

PUC’s unbeaten streak in the Championship thus far will be put to the test as GIMPA will need to win with at least a seven point difference to better the former’s record. PUC has two wins with a point difference of +8 whereas GIMPA has a win with a point difference of +2.

Winner of the zone will qualify automatically to the next round of the Championship. However, the second best placed team between Zones A, F and G also gets to qualify to the quarter finals.

The headline game of the day will feature reigning PUSAG (Private Universities Students Association Games) Basketball Champions go against reigning Ghana Universities Sports Association (GUSA) Basketball Champions.

The 2016 UPAC Championship is headlined by Rexona, supported by Fanyogo, MTN and CAL Bank in partnership with Basketballghana.com, Y FM, TV3 and Ghana Sports.
