Heavy rain disrupted the final game between Blue Crest College and hosts Dam City Ballers Basketball Club at the 2016 Easter Ball Basketball competition at Akosombo over the weekend.

The competition in its’ fourth season was originally scheduled to take place during the Easter festivities in the latter parts of March. However, the competition took place with six teams namely Black Outfit, New Fadama City, Blue Crest College, Datalink University College, Blazers of Manuels competing.

Blue Crest won two games on Friday beating Dam City 34-33 and Manuels 38-27. The team beat Black Outfit 52-37 before setting up a finals game against the host team. With Blue Crest leading by five points (13-8) after the first quarter, the game was halted due to heavy rain. The game has been rescheduled to take place on Sunday April 24.

Speaking to Basketballghana.com, Blue Crest College Coach Kofi Agyemang Kwarteng said the tournament forms part of a developmental quest the team is embarking on to improve the team’s play ahead of future competitions.

Blue Crest College recently competed in the Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship where they beat Zenith University College and narrowly lost 23-27 to defending champions Accra Polytechnic in their debut appearance.

The team also competed in a four team elimination tournament with Marshalls University College, Central University and Royal Elites Basketball Club.
