The Greater Accra Basketball League will commence on Friday 22nd April at the Lebanon House in Ghana’s capital, Accra as Tema Youth takes on Fire in the opening game. This season’s league is set to feature a promising bunch of players who are primed to make a big impact on the basketball scene.

The league will have ten teams compete in the Division I including Braves of CEPS, Navy, Fire and Reformers at Lebanon House and Prisons Court. The league is set to run from April 22 to Friday July 22.

One major story line fans of the fledgling league to watch out for is the new kids on the block DC Dynamics. Headed by enterprising Coach Feranmi Olulonyo, the Dansoman-based outfit gained promotion to the elite league following an impressive run to winning the Division II League.

The Division II will feature the likes of former Division I outfit Panthers, OSK and Galaxy Academy. The second-tier commences with OSK taking on Panthers on Saturday April23 at Lebanon House in Tudu. Police, CYO and Leopards will also feature on the said date.

Division II will run between April 23 and May 28.

Following what has been an exhilarating start to the basketball calendar, the imminent commencement of the league is sure to consolidate the excitement on the basketball scene.
