Loss of concentration in the final minutes was the main reason behind Navy’s 37-45 loss to Air Force on the opening day of the Greater Accra Women’s Basketball League new season according to Navy Coach Alexander Tindani.

The veteran coach who goes by the moniker “Coach Super” was left disappointed after his team failed to complete a remarkable comeback which had Navy fight back from a 12-21 loss in the first half to exchange leads with Air Force.

However, Tindani was left to rue his team’s inability to get the win.

Speaking to Basketballghana.com, he said, “We lost concentration in the last two minutes and that is how come we lost this game. My people were concentrating on offense and my opponents realized this and utilized this to score on fast breaks”

A change in tactics during recess sparked Navy into life as Tindani had his player’s man mark their opponents which proved to be trick as Air Force free scoring Guards Nafisa Mumuni and Adelaide Dsadie were not productive in the second half.

The duo’s fast break scoring exploits got thwarted due to the change but had enough firepower to eke out a victory. Prisons battered Fire Service 62-30 in the other game whereas Galaxy had a walk over against Police since the latter failed to show up for the game.
