Teshie Rangers ‘ 52-50 win over DC Dynamics on the opening day of the 2016 Accra Basketball League was sweet revenge for the side according to team captain Wisdom Etsorgali.
Rangers ‘victory came on the back of failing to beat the Dansoman-based side in two previous games when both sides featured in Division II last season.
Speaking to Basketballghana.com after recording the win over last season’s Division II Champions , Etsorgali was delighted with how things panned in the last game of the opening day. He said:
“We came for revenge considering the fact they beat us twice last year. Player discipline and mental toughness from Rangers basketball was awesome”.
The battle between the promoted sides’s from Division II lived up to expectations as both teams went for the kill earlier on in the game. However, it was DC Dynamics who held the game’s advantage for long stretches of the game till the final minutes where exceptional on the boards handed Rangers second chances to convert and seal the win.
Dynamics, led by Coach Feranmi Olulonyo will feel hard done by after leading for most parts but have work to do if they are to stay in the league.
