The second season of Global Sports Project (GSP) Basketball League in Ghana’s Brong Ahafo Region commenced late April but has since been halted due to pertinent issues which threaten to derail the championship.

The issues which vary from financial to fixture challenges caused management to postpone the start of the new season on three separate occasions according to Public Relations Officer of the league Daniel Addo.

In an exclusive statement issued by management, the break was necessary to give students competing in the league, the chance to complete examinations.

“Week Two matches have been put on hold because of lack of sponsorship which is a major problem of the league. Because of this, the start date of the league had to be postponed about three times before it finally commenced on April 30, 2016.”

“Secondly, the league is opened to schools and teams in the community… so management have to break for students in participating schools to finish writing their exams”.
