The second week of games in the Accra Basketball League Women’s Division which was scheduled to take place at the Lebanon House in Tudu has been called off due to heavy rains which affected most parts of Ghana’s capital, Accra.
The set games have since been moved to the Prisons Court at Cantonments on Saturday May 14 beginning 14:00 GMT. The rescheduled round of games will take place before the men’s division I round of games begin.
The Women’s Division began on Thursday May 5 with Air Force beating Navy 45-37 in the opening game before Fire Service lost heavily to Prisons in the second game. The Fire ladies lost 30-62 as the team battled to hold their own without talismanic Point Guard Carlin Adjei who fouled out of the game in the third quarter.
The last game of the day between Galaxy Ladies and Police Ladies was forfeited due to the latter’s failure to show up. Reports later indicated the team had failed to complete registration in time for the start of the league.
CEPS Ladies won the division last season.
