Navy’s matchup with defending champions Braves of CEPS headlines the second round of fixtures for the Accra Basketball League (ABL) Men’s Division I today at the Lebanon House in Tudu, Accra. The second week of the ABL will also have Magic go up against Air Force with Reformers taking on DC Dynamics.

The first game of the day between Magic and Air Force tips off at 17:00 GMT. Navy’s matchup against Braves will be the final game of the day. Both sides won respective games in the opening round of the new season.

Navy defeated last season runners up Tema Youth 51-46 and Braves whitewashed Holy Family 69-37 in the opening round. Navy looked a reinvigorated side after escaping relegation in last season championship and they showed it with a great display against Tema.

Braves had little trouble displacing Holy Family who had no substitutes or coach on the bench. The easy nature of the game gave Coach Brimah Lawal the chance to effect as many changes to his lineups as possible.

Dynamics will have to avoid defeat in its’ game against Reformers to stay in early contention for the title. Last season’s Division II champions suffered a shock 50-52 loss to Teshie Rangers last week.

Magic will make its’ long awaited debut in the 2016 season against Air Force. The James Okine-led side was scheduled to feature in the opening round of the season against Police but the game got postponed due to administrative challenges on the part of Police.
